We have not had any history books. Of Austrian history, we have learned nothing. We were great German Reich. And our teaching of history was called current affairs. As we have learned where we have all won, at which fronts. There were only? Victory, victory, victory, and we will prevail. And at home we have heard: "My uncle has fallen, the cousin has fallen, the bombs are there, the house is broken." That was a huge discrepancy. And in time it was thought no more of what you have learned in school. And then later, after the war, it has also been no history books. Because the old ones were gone. And the new ones are not .. I have had to Matura not a history book.
